The questions worth answering up front.

What does a Shopify app cost?

A focused public app is usually a 6–10 week build; a private app for one merchant is often 3–5, and a well-scoped prototype can be days. We quote straight off your written spec — fixed price when the scope is genuinely fixed, time-and-materials when it is discovery work, and we tell you which one we think it is rather than defaulting to whichever suits us.

How long until it is on the App Store?

Building is the predictable part; Shopify’s App Review is not. Expect a few days to a couple of weeks after submission, longer if the listing needs rework. We submit with the compliance endpoints, listing copy and media already in place, which is what most rejections are actually about.

Who owns the code and the Partner account?

You do — the repository, the Shopify Partner account, the infrastructure and the App Store listing, from day one. We work inside your accounts wherever possible. There is no license to renew and nothing that stops working if you stop working with us.

Can you take over an app someone else built?

Yes, and it is a big part of what we do. We start with a fixed-price audit — architecture, security, API versions and Built for Shopify readiness — and give you an honest answer, including “this is cheaper to rewrite” when that is the truth.

What happens after launch?

Shopify deprecates API versions on a schedule, so an app nobody maintains breaks on a timetable you did not choose. We offer a retainer covering monitoring, API-version migrations and merchant support. The same people who built it answer the tickets — that is why so many of our reviews are about support.

Will it pass Built for Shopify?

Three of our apps carry the badge, so we build to those requirements from the start rather than retrofitting them: performance budgets, embedded App Bridge navigation, Polaris patterns and the review criteria that get checked. We cannot promise Shopify’s decision, but we can promise the work is not what fails it.

Do you host it, or do we?

Either, and hosting is part of the offer rather than a separate shopping trip: server, domain, SSL certificates, zero-downtime deploys, backups and monitoring, all on the container platform we built and run ourselves — this site is served by it. If you would rather own the infrastructure, we ship into your cloud account instead and hand over the runbooks.

Do you only work on Shopify?

No. About half our own portfolio is outside it — live chat, error tracking, web scraping, site builders, and the container platform this site is deployed on. If your Shopify app needs a real backend, a billing system or an ops story, that is the same team.

How do we start?
